Everyone was really great with the kids - In the mornings on the beach, lots of people walk their dogs, and most people were fine with Edie petting the dogs (as long as she asked first!). In Gloucester, Edie wasn't paying attention to where she was walking and fell and bumped her head on the brick sidewalk, so the guy who was working at a nearby toystore ran over and gave her some candy from the big bowl inside the shop. Everyone was really nice. Both Rockport and Gloucester are a litle hilly, and the sidewalks are narrow and made of old brick (ie: bumpy), so while the stoller was usually fine, there were some precarious spots. Luckily in Rockport there aren't many cars (the streets are quite narrow), so we were able to walk in the roads. If you are able to, I would recommend a smaller stroller or even a Baby Bjorn or Ergo to carry your babe around in. Best of luck with your trip!Deanna (Silly Goose Farm)https://www.blogger.com/profile/10487494284909630705noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6477950057325602336.post-1853069630718794412011-06-28T22:31:59.097-04:002011-06-28T22:31:59.097-04:00Hi Deanna! Came across your blog and photographs and getting excited about the trip. Are the towns child friendly and stroller friendly? Now that we have the kids, we try to rent houses because it's a better arragement when we travel. It was a rental property, no body really lives there. We actually had someone want to rent the farm while we were gone but it didn't work out on their end.Deanna (Silly Goose Farm)https://www.blogger.com/profile/10487494284909630705noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6477950057325602336.post-59613591494455404202010-09-29T22:59:18.739-04:002010-09-29T22:59:18.739-04:00Fabulous photos! Yes, Edie is, indeed, wearing a backpack leash. She is such an active kid and hates being carried, pushed or holding hands with dear old mom (me!) so sometimes it's the only way to keep an eye on her.Deanna (Silly Goose Farm)https://www.blogger.com/profile/10487494284909630705noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6477950057325602336.post-88039630299424011892010-09-29T16:45:53.292-04:002010-09-29T16:45:53.292-04:00Ah, thanks for the vicarious trip to Rockport. Nice photo of the Motif! I'm very impressed with your research on the towns too. I had totally forgotten about Rockport being a "dry" town.
