A grown-up version of a friendship bracelet for my BFF
Sophisticated granny square blanket for my parents
Upcycled squirrel for cousins...
or maybe felt bunnies for stocking stuffers
Jam with cute labels
Linen lavender pillow inserts for a peaceful night's sleep
Garden markers for my mom, a lady with a definite green thumb
Yummy soaps for my momma, too
A snowman building kit for the neighbor boy
Felt pine cone ornaments for the neighbors
Or maybe some crocheted snowflakes, just like my mom used to make
Maybe some quirky ornaments for the kids to hang on the tree
Fragrant fire starters for friends with fireplaces
Crocheted dishcloths for my Mamie...
Or maybe some pretty pot holders
Felt coasters for my "drinking buddies" (you could make these in a lot of fun shapes!)
A simple apron for a friend that loves to cook
Hand warmers in cute fabric...
Or fun shapes
Hand and body scrubs for my girlfriends...
Or maybe some lip balm to help with all the gabbing we do
Do you have any ideas for handmade holiday ornaments? Anything you are hoping a friend will make for you? Feel free to share!
I have been thinking about what to give for gifts this year. Only if I had 1 month off of work to make it all happen!!!
ReplyDeleteThoughts are ...
1) Sugar scrubs. They are just so luxurious.
2) Various baby/young kid related items
3) Lined drawstring bags from a fav blog incolororder.com
4) I really like the Anna Maria Horner Art Student Tote. I might try to make a few for my little cousins (note that I haven't even made 1 yet).
5) I really love all of the Christmas ornaments out there made with old book pages and are sprayed with like a silvery glitter. Or maybe a wreath with that?
We should do a Christmas Craft Swap! Hmmm.. how would that work?
Ooo Lauren! That all sounds amazing! I can't wait to see what you come up with. You should email From Scratch Club (fromscratchclub at gmail) to get details about the "craft fair" Chris is organizing for the December swap in Schenectady. I bet your creations would be a big hit!

ReplyDeleteThese are such cute ideas, and a craft swap would be awesome!
ReplyDelete@Becky - Thanks! I feel just making one thing for someone special means so much. The intention behind the gift is the best part, me thinks.
ReplyDelete@Betsy - I'll keep you in the loop about a craft fair if it happens!
Thanks for reading. I love your comments :-)
Ooo thanks Deanna. That sounds like a great idea. I'll e-mail Chris!
